Since they are right at the back of your mouth, they are typically difficult to clean. Sometimes plaque and bacteria can get between the wisdom teeth and surrounding gum tissues and teeth, this can cause immense pain and swelling. If this happens often, it may be a sign that your wisdom teeth are not in a favourable position and may need to be removed.

Digital X-rays may be utilised or requested to assess in more detail the risks of leaving your wisdom teeth there. Based on a sound examination and the appropriate investigations, our dentists will be able to make a recommendation on whether your wisdom teeth will cause you more problems in the future, and the need to remove them.
